Digestive Health
Digestive health allows the body to properly break down food and absorb nutrients to keep the body healthy.
The digestive system processes and breaks down the food we eat. As food travels on its journey of digestion, which takes up to two days, it is broken down to release essential nutrients, that will be absorbed from the intestines into the circulatory system. These nutrients are then delivered to the cells of every body system in order to provide them with energy.
One can experience digestive dysfunctions in many ways, such as, heartburn, constipation, gas, bloating, IBS, colitis, leaky gut, candida, and more. Without giving much attention to these symptoms and or diagnoses, will lead to more serious diseases even if one gets a little relief.
Digestive Health can be addressed in many areas of medicine. We will work together in understanding your overall health history to get to the root cause of your health problems. I will educate you on how important it is to chew your food well. By eliminating foods that trigger your symptoms, just for a few weeks, and adding them back into your diet slowly. Introducing supplements like, probiotics, and fennel, and slowly increasing fiber into your diet will help with bowel elimination. Exercise is a key component is helping move food through the digestive tract. Don’t eat late at night, so your body have time to go through the digestive functioning process fully to achieve healing.
We can do testing if need be. I can work with your primary provider. Testing could include, IgG food sensitivity test, hydrogen breath test for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), Comprehensive Stool Analysis test for Candida, Antibodies and Antigen Panel, just to name a few of them. These test can get expensive, so we will focus on Functional Nutrition and address testing on an as needed basis.
