Urinary Health
How well the system works at removing wastes and producing and controlling urine, as well as any disorders or problems.
The urinary system filters and removes many of the waste products generated by the other body systems. It filters blood through the kidneys and produce urine which is collected in the bladder and excreted through the urethra. The kidneys also help maintain blood pressure within the cardiovascular system by ensuring that the correct amount of water is reabsorbed by the blood.
Kidneys are the big powerhouse of the urinary system. They are the filtering system. They cleanse the blood and regulates the blood’s PH or acidity. Without proper kidney function, one may have severe pain with kidney stones, urinary tract infection (UTI), inability to urinate (pee), and this can lead to chronic kidney disease, progressing in stages (I-V), five being considered for hemodialysis. By not seeking help before this becomes chronic, can result in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), dependence on weekly dialysis. Also, one can have a feeling of embarrassment with urinary incontinence, sometimes called leaky bladder. This is when someone cannot hold their bladder, and wet (pee) a little or a lot in one’s undergarments.
We can explore a variety of nutrition solutions in correcting the filtration of toxins and getting the body back in proper function. The most important nutrients to nourish the urinary system, to name a few are:
Testing is a good way to see the health of one’s urinary system like blood test panels to test to see the levels of toxins, urine cultures for UTIs, PSA levels to measure the health of the prostate, but we can also do this with food and supplements. We can work with your provider if any test needs to be done.
